The ETH Foundation celebrated its twentieth anniversary last year. But why does the Foundation exist and how does it work?

The official ETH app has been given a new design. In addition to the fresh look, it presents itself with an up-to-date user experience and some technical innovations.

The Executive Board issued the 2024 regulations for the new Master's degree programme in Space Systems and the continuing education programme Master of Advanced Studies ETH in AI and Digital Technology (MAS ETH AID). It also simplified the financial planning of the Central Administrative Units. In addition, new guidelines for engagement at the science-policy interface and for the provision of political advice have been in effect at ETH Zurich since 1 February.

Decide which internal ETH topics you would like to be regularly informed about in the future: Thanks to the new, personalisable Internal news newsletter, you can select specific topics that you want to be kept up to date on.

Go and visit Morph Tales – Exploring Artificial Intelligence to experience in a smart and engaging way how AI and humans can accomplish tasks together. The new game will be unveiled on 1 April 2023 as part of the Informatiktage (Computer Science Days). It will then be available for play at the CAB building from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. until 14 April 2023.  

“Services & Resources” has become “Staffnet”: As of today, there’s a newly designed website to ensure that ETH employees start their day with the most up-to-date information.

Make your research easy to understand, present your findings in a compelling way, and convey a confident image to the media: ETH Zurich’s Corporate Communications department is once again offering the Communication Academy, where you can sharpen your science communication skills in a series of courses and webinars.

In a week’s time, the Executive Board of ETH Zurich will set out the plan for the university’s phasing out of emergency operations and will hold a townhall meeting to explain the details.

Around 1,400 ETH members took part in the virtual information event on Wednesday 15 April, which focused on the new regulations on working hours, holidays and childcare.

At the start of August, Alessio Figalli was awarded the Fields Medal. This distinction is often referred to as the Nobel Prize for mathematicians and is a cause for major celebration. ETH Zurich won this year's "European Excellence Awards in PR & Communications" with two projects: The Cybathlon won first prize in the category event and experiental marketing. Furthermore, the ETH Zurich short film won an award in the category Corporate Film and Video.

An increasing number of visitors is accessing ETH Zurich websites on mobile devices. In order to offer all visitors an optimal user experience, the switch to a responsive web design means that the content now adjusts flexibly to the respective screen size of the user.

The new short film about ETH communicates the key facts about the university, all in the space of a Polybahn trip. But this isn’t your everyday communications material – it deliberately combines fast-paced self-confidence with a tongue-in-cheek approach.

Mobility management at ETH Zurich comes in many forms. E-bikes, all-electric delivery trucks, and more direct links between the various locations and major train stations are making life easier for staff and students at ETH Zurich. The latest issue of ‘life’ magazine takes a look at the various facets of mobility management and current projects in this area.

An update to the ETH app was made available at the start of this week. Users can select their preferred news sources and comment on articles.
