Change category assignment

The “Assign category” function transfers study achievements and their credits to other categories in the transcript of records. It may be necessary to prepare the degree request and request for the completion of the doctoral studies.

Each category must contain at least the required number of credits to enable the submission of the degree request.

As soon as the degree request has been submitted, no more changes can be made in the transcript of records. The "Assign category" function is then disabled.

By clicking on the "Change" button, the assignment of a study achievement to a category can be adjusted.

After clicking, the drop-down menu shows "No category" and other categories into which the study achievements can be moved.

Once a category has been selected, the study achievement is moved to the new category by clicking on the "Save" button. Clicking on the "Close" button cancels the change to the category.

Study achievements from categories with additional credits can be moved to another category using this function. If "No category" is selected, the study achievements are not used for the (final) academic record (on the "addendum") and may possibly be recognised towards another degree programme at ETH.

If the transfer of study achievements to the required category is not possible, the Study Administration can be contacted.
