Request for the recognition of study achievements from other institutions

Here you can send a message to the Study Administration with your request.

Here a study achievement can be recorded. A request must contain at least one study achievement.

• Each supporting document is given a meaningful designation (e.g. transcript of records, learning agreement, confirmation of study).
• Each requested study achievement must be included on one of the supporting documents.
• At least one supporting document must be uploaded per request.
• The file name of the PDF files is limited to 100 characters. Files with longer names cannot be uploaded.

The button “PDF Upload” is only active when the name of the document has been entered.

The request and the uploaded documents are deleted.

The request is submitted to the study administration for further processing. For this purpose, an e-mail is sent to the study administration. The request can no longer be edited or deleted.

 External institutions are for example:

• Geneva Graduate Institute
• USI Università della Svizzera italiana
• IIT Bombay, India
• ZHAW Winterthur
• Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL
• etc.

Study credits from the ETH, the University of Zurich and the Language Centre of UZH and ETH Zurich are accepted elsewhere and may not be requested.
 

For every study achievement the external institution must:

• provide an official result (grade or pass),
  
• indicate the number of credit points and
  
• confirm these with a document (e.g. academic record).
  

Before the the study achievement is requested, it must be ensured that it is approved by the supervisor. The supervisor must therefore be informed in advance and give his/her OK. This process is not technically supported. The approval must be in writing and also uploaded alongside the evidence from the external institution.

The following are considered supervisors

• for the doctorate: the thesis supervisor
• for ETH exchange students (Bachelor, Master with a stay abroad): the mobility advisor
• for Master students: the tutor

For the participation in summer schools, conferences and/or seminars special course units (Transferrable Skills Courses, Participation in Commission, Summer School, External Conference) for doctoral studies per department are exisiting. Whether and how the request for the recognition of study achievements can be used in their place must be clarified in each individual case with the doctoral administration of the department.
