Registering for a course units / Selecting supervisors/tutors
For supervised elements (semester projects/papers, Bachelor’s or Master’s theses), the responsible supervisor must be selected via a separate search template.
Bachelor’s and Master’s theses in particular are subject to restrictions as to choice of supervisor. If your search does not identify the lecturer you require, please contact your Study Administration Office.
For tutored courses (e.g. Master’s thesis and semester project courses), students choose their tutors either from a given list, or look for a preferred person using the search function.

Search criteria
In the search result, teaching staff are listed only if they have been assigned a teaching period which is valid now or in the future. Additional restrictions apply specifically to professors and lecturers:
"Professors"
If “Professors” is displayed, only active professors with the following ranks are listed in the search result:
- Full Professor (1)
- Associate Professor (2)
- Assistant Professor (3)
- Professor Emeritus (4)
Not listed are Adjunct Professors or professors from universities other than ETH Zurich. If you want to choose one of these, contact your Study Administration Office.
"Lecturers"
The search result contains all ETH Zurich lecturers except
- Adjunct Professor without teaching duties (11)
