Timeline: Communication channels

Timeline with three phases: 1. Initiation 2023, 2. Planning 2024-2027, and 3. Launch from Fall Semester 2027

Students will always find the latest information about PAKETH on this website. The website launched in AS 2024 was substantially expanded in SS 2025 and is updated regularly. If you have any questions, please contact us.

From SS 2025, all students will be informed by e-mail at least once a semester about the latest news on PAKETH and the associated changes.

The PAKETH information events (so-called town halls) for students will present the most important information and updates on PAKETH every semester (starting in the autumn semester 2025). The focus will be on the changes across all degree programmes.

The first general information event took place online on 5 November 2025. Find more information below on this webpage.

Programme-specific information events are expected to be offered for each degree programme from autumn semester 2026. The dates of the individual events will be published on this page.

PAKETH Town Hall for Bachelor's students

On 5 November, Rector Günther Dissertori and members of the PAKETH core team hosted the first general information event for Bachelor’s students. The event was held online in German and provided an overview of the most important changes as well as an opportunity to ask questions.

If you missed the event or would like to revisit the content, the video recording is now available (with English subtitles).

For master’s students, there will be a separate Townhall in 2026, which will then be held in English.

Programme-specific info events

Programme-specific information events are expected to be offered for each degree programme starting from the Autumn Semester 2026. The exact dates will be published on this website.

Would you like to get involved?

PAKETH pays particular attention to the academic feasibility and thus also to the planning of student workloads.

Students are given information about the format and schedule of performance assessments ahead of time in the course catalogue and from lecturers. This allows them to know when and how much they will be required to do in a module.

For this to work well, it is important that the degree programmes and the Rectorate receive feedback. It is therefore essential that you, as students, take part in the ‘ETH Zurich Course Evaluation’ surveys. In the Autumn Semester of 2025, written examinations will be evaluated, which will also include questions about the amount of time spent on individual exam preparation.

A new workload development study will also be piloted at the end of the semester. The more students who complete the surveys, the more representative and meaningful the database will be for workload planning in the degree programmes.

The student associations at ETH Zurich represent the interests of students. These associations offer you the opportunity to get actively involved and engage. An overview of the student associations can be found here.
