The University Assembly of ETH Zurich warmly invites all staff and students to an informational event on the ETH Domain and the role of the University Assembly delegate to the ETH Board.

At this event, the President of the ETH Board, Fritz Schiesser, will describe the role of the ETH Board as the strategic management body of the ETH Domain (ETH Zurich, EPFL, PSI, WSL, Empa and Eawag). The responsibilities, role, and staffing of the ETH Domain and the ETH Board will be addressed, particularly in respect of the creation of swissuniversities, the new university policy body for Swiss universities. In line with a new federal law, all Swiss universities are now organised under a central umbrella organisation. We will look at the direct and indirect consequences this will have for the ETH Domain.

The University Assemblies of ETH Zurich and EPF Lausanne are jointly represented by a delegate on the ETH Board. She or he is appointed by the Federal Council at the request of both university assemblies for a period of four years. Our current delegate, Markus Stauffacher, will resign from his office after a decade of highly dedicated and successful work at the end of 2016 as he is entering retirement. Markus Stauffacher will be available to answer any questions at the event.

Accordingly, we are now inviting applications to fill the delegate role. The application deadline is the end of this year. The vacancy will be published on 9 November 2015 on www.hv.ethz.ch/index_EN and external pageETH Jobs.
