Wanted: Android smartphones

The Mobile Health Laboratory of ETH Zurich is looking for 100 intact Android phones (version 4.0 and higher) for a research project in Peru. They will be used to help diagnose pneumonia in young children. Bring or send your phone by the end of May 2015.

The Mobile Health Systems Laboratory is developing software to help diagnose pneumonia in young children. This software has been adapted for mobile phones and is to be used primarily in counries with limited medical care. In its next study, the laboratory plans to investigate the respiratory rates of children in Peru. Local health workers will take measurements in villages at various altitudes. The researchers need about 100 phones to complete this project.

The Mobile Health Systems Laboratory is looking for

Fully functional and intact Android phones of all brands, version 4.0 and higher, and less than 3 years old. Any existing personal data will be deleted before use.

How to donate
Bring phones to the Info + Service Centres in the Main Building and HIL (Hönggerberg), or send them by internal mail to: Secretariat D-HEST, LFW C 13.2, Universitätstrasse 2, 8092 Zurich, by the end of May 2015.*
* Donors renounce ownership of their devices and confirm that no third-party rights exist (leasing, repayments etc.).
