Introducing the four prorectors

On 1 May, Professor Paolo Ermanni (pictured on the far left) will be taking up his new post as Prorector for Continuing Education. Three other prorectors have been re-elected for a further term.

At its meeting on 14 April, the Executive Board announced that the following prorectors have been newly appointed or re-elected for a term from 1 May 2015 to 31 December 2018:

Newly elected prorector:

  • Professor Paolo Ermanni has been named as the new Prorector for Continuing Education. The 55-year-old from Ticino has been a full Professor of Structure Technologies at ETH Zurich since 1 April 2003. He is also Director of the Congressi Stefano Franscini.

Re-elected prorectors:

  • Professor Joachim Buhmann, Prorector for Study Programmes. Professor Buhmann has been a full Professor of Information Science and Engineering at ETH Zurich since October 2003.
  • Professor Thomas Vogel, Prorector for Doctoral Studies. Professor Vogel has been a full Professor of Structural Engineering at ETH Zurich’s Institute of Structural Engineering since 1 October 1995.
  • Professor Andreas Vaterlaus, Prorector for Curriculum Development. Professor Vaterlaus has been a full Professor of Physics and Education at ETH Zurich since August 2008.
