The health insurance fund SWICA uses the family doctor model and offers three options geared specifically towards young, foreign academics. You can choose which package you require and the franchise amount.
Comparing benefits
All three packages include compulsory basic insurance. They only differ in terms of the scope of the supplementary insurance benefits they offer. Packages 2 and 2+ give you the option to upgrade from a general ward to a semi-private or private ward – with a corresponding contribution towards the costs – if you are admitted to hospital. Package 2+ also offers you supplementary insurance benefits for outpatient treatment.
