Viola Vogel elected as Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering

Great honor for Viola Vogel: The professor, head of the Laboratory of Applied Mechanobiology at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology, has been elected as a Fellow of the British Royal Academy of Engineering.

At its Annual General Meeting on 19 September 2023 the Royal Academy of Engineering elected 73 leading figures in the field of engineering and technology to its Fellowship. Viola Vogel is among 8 international Fellows who have been elected to the Fellowship. According to the RAE, each of the fellows as made exceptional contributions to their sector.

The new Fellows will be formally admitted to the Academy at a special ceremony in London on 28 November 2023, when each Fellow will sign the roll book. In joining the Fellowship, they will lend their unique capabilities to achieving the Academy’s overarching strategic goal to harness the power of engineering to create a sustainable society and an inclusive economy for all.
