The Lelio Orci Award 2016 goes to Markus Aebi

Markus Aebi, professor at the Institute of Microbiology (D-BIOL), has won the Lelio Orci Award 2016. He has been honoured for his achievements in the field of glycobiology. Aebi is the second recipient of the award.

The Lelio Orci Award was presented at the end of the annual meeting of “Life Sciences Switzerland” (LS2) on 2 and 3 February 2017 at the University of Zurich’s Irchel campus. As part of the award ceremony, the prize winner Markus Aebi presented his work on the making of N-glycoproteins.

The prize was established in 2015 by Lelio Orci, emeritus professor at the University of Geneva’s Faculty of Medicine. and is awarded to scientists who have made outstanding achievements in the field of cell biology.
