The John Dalton medal is presented by the European Geosciences Union (EGU) to researchers who have established an exceptional reputation in hydrology. The EGU acknowledged the contributions made by Dani Or’s research group to the understanding of evaporation processes from porous surfaces. The group formulated this dynamic from the soil’s point of view, thereby complementing the atmospheric view of the process.

The European Geosciences Union (EGU) is an interdisciplinary scientific society for researchers in geoscience and related subjects. Dani Or will be awarded the medal at the EGU’s general assembly, which takes place from 23-28 April 2017.
