Speakers

Kathrin Amacker

Kathrin Amacher

Kathrin Amacker is Board President of Fairtrade Max Havelaar Switzerland and Member of the Chairs Group of Fairtrade International. She is also Board Member of the Basel University and Board Vice-President of the Merian Iselin Medical Clinic.

Before, Kathrin was Member of the Executive Management Board of Swiss Federal Railways SBB (2013-20) and Telecom Operator Swisscom (2010-13), responsible for Communications, Politics and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Kathrin has been politically active for many years, serving as a Member of Parlament at the National Council of Switzerland, as Board Member of the Swiss Christian Democratic Party and still today as President of the Association Regio Basiliensis.

In her early career, Kathrin was as pharmacist with PHD at Ciba-Geigy and Novartis in Production, Development and Human Resources.

Menna El-Assady

Menna El-Assady

Menna El-Assady is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich, leading the Interactive Visualization and Intelligence Augmentation Lab (IVIA).

Prior to assuming this role, she held a position as a research fellow at the AI Center of ETH Zurich in Switzerland. Before that, she served as a research associate and doctoral student within the group for Data Analysis and Visualization at the University of Konstanz in Germany and the Visualization for Information Analysis lab at OntarioTech University in Canada.

Her work primarily revolves around the convergence of data analysis, visualization, computational linguistics, and explainable artificial intelligence. The research focus involves the integration of data mining and machine learning techniques with visual analytics, particularly in the context of text data.

Marie-Claire Graf

Marie-Claire Graf

Marie-Claire Graf, climate diplomacy and policy consultant, advocate and activist, Co-Founder of Youth Negotiators Academy, former Focal Point of the Youth Constituency at United Nations Climate Change, and former Vice-Chair of Youth at United Nations Food Systems Summit.

She was the youngest negotiator of Switzerland to the UN climate negotiations and is currently training young diplomats from all over the world for multilateral processes. She has been studying at ETH and the University of Zurich (Political and Environmental Sciences).

Viktoria Ivarsson

Viktoria Ivarsson

Change Agent. Go-to Person. Viktoria Ivarsson is the Head of Alumni Engagement in the Office of the President of ETH Zurich.

She also manages the ETH Circle, an international network of alumni and friends of ETH Zurich who act as ambassadors. Formerly with EHL School of Hospitality, Hirslanden, and the World Economic Forum, Viktoria holds an MAS in Sports Administration and Technology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), and an MA in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (HEI). A Swiss and Swedish national, she is fluent in 4 languages, and is currently learning German. A member of Nordiska, the Nordic Rowing Association, she can be found most mornings rowing on Lake Zurich.
