Challenge Rumantsch

The two winning projects of the Challenge Rumantsch were selected and will be presented in the ETH Pavilion of the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos.

Challenge Rumantsch

2018 is the European Year of Cultural Heritage and ETH Zurich wants to further strengthen its ties with Graubünden. For this reason, ETH Zurich is bringing together students and high school students from the canton of Grisons in the Challenge Rumantsch to further develop the Romansh culture in unexpected ways. During the intensive week in Riom (GR), the participants immersed themselves in the culture of Grisons, developed ideas using the Design Thinking Method and concretized them into four prototypes with ETH experts.

Two prototypes convinced the jury on November 16, 2017 and the developing participants were awarded a ticket for their appearance in the ETH pavilion at the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos:

Teddy-Tutor: A teddy bear that integrates machine learning and communicates in all idioms.

Virtual walk Da Val a Val: Rediscover the Grisons with Augmented Reality!

The two further prototypes, the Foodtruck Bumperfatscha and the Chasa Scientifica, a "Bündner Technorama", will also be presented to the guests in Davos.

The project is led by the Team of Strategic Development with strong support from ETH Global, external pageSpark Labs and also supported by external pageLia Rumantscha, external pageOrigen Kulturfestival and the external pageGrisons Club Zurich.
