Researchers from ETH Zurich have built a prototype of an ultra-thin, curved concrete roof using innovative digital design and fabrication methods. The tested novel formwork system will be used in an actual construction project for the first time next year.

New Student residences

HWO

As well as being a site of research and teaching, ETH’s Hönggerberg campus is also set to become a place to live. When the semester gets underway in September, some 900 students will move into their new homes right next to lecture halls and laboratories. New Student residences  

Biennale Architettura 2016 in Venice

ETH Zurich is represented through various projects at the Biennale Architettura 2016 in Venice. A research group around Philippe Block is presenting the project "Beyond Bending" and Dirk Hebel is showing his project "Daring Growth".

Monte Rosa Alpine Hut

The Monte Rosa Alpine Hut, conceived by ETH Zurich and the Swiss Alpine Club SAC, opened above Zermatt in September 2009. This spectacular building serves as an experimental laboratory for sustainable construction in the Alps.
