ETH Zurich's first winter school in the programme "Engineering for Development (E4D) - Science & Technology for the South" focused on Global Water Challenges. 24 students from around the world attended the E4D Winter School, hosted by ETH Global.

A start-up accelerator for young social entrepreneurs: Student teams compete around the world for a chance to secure US$ 1 million in prize funding. This year, the quarter finals for Hult Prize, for the first time, is being held at ETH Zurich.

On 28 November 2014, ETH Global will host a lecture by Prof. Dr. Peter Zilla, MD Head of Chris Barnard Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiovascular Research Unit at the University of Cape Town. He will lecture on the topic of "Tailor-made Innovations Rather than Imported First-World Technologies".

Building on Zurich’s role as a 21st-century hub for scientific and technological innovation, Zurich meets New York highlighted the contemporary relevance of visionary movements and ideas born in Zurich and their impact on American culture. The festival featured 25 events, 11 of which were hosted by ETH Zurich and its partners at venues across New York City.
