The Workshop Platform now assists with design and development
Since 1 April 2021, the ETH platform for workshop technology (in short Workshop Platform) has expanded its range of services to include design and development. This service is offered free of charge to ETH members.
Since April this year, customers can call on the Workshop Platform for assistance with their design and development projects. In a short period of time, the ETH technology platform has developed into a full-service provider (FSP). Its extensive offering is primarily for all ETH researchers, who now have low-threshold, uncomplicated access to the new specialist area of design and development. The design unit works with the SolidWorks 2020 CAD system but can read and process various CAD data.
From the customer's sketch to the finished product
“We’ll work with you to come up with a viable design idea, and then help put it into practice. Our in-depth expertise means we can implement designs, manufacture components or simply advise you on the process”, says Peter Stäuble, Workshop Platform manager. To keep this assistance cost-effective, we only charge for the items you require.
