Watch the Cybathlon live!

The action starts this afternoon! Follow the Cybathlon 2020 Global Edition live on the Cybathlon website from 4 p.m. onwards. Today and tomorrow, a riveting programme will feature footage of the races of more than 50 teams from across the globe, as well as special reports and interviews with experts.

During the two-day live programme, pilots from 20 countries will compete in the 6 Cybathlon disciplines. Follow the races on cybathlon.com and cheer on the teams – virtually, at least! Lining up will be a total of 10 Swiss teams: 5 from the ETH domain, 5 from other national universities and organisations.

New global lockdown format

Many ETH members signed up as volunteers for the two-day major event scheduled for spring 2020, and eagerly anticipated being close to the action. But this year, things have turned out differently. As cases of coronavirus soared, the Organising Committee was compelled to develop a “lockdown-tight” format: at the Cybathlon 2020 Global Edition, instead of starting simultaneously and side-by-side, the teams set up the competition infrastructure themselves in their home countries. Their races were filmed during the course of this week.

Now these video recordings from all over the world are being assembled into the live programme on cybathlon.com. Featured here will be not just the races, but also stories about the pilots, reports on inclusion and assistance technologies, and interviews with experts. Undaunted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cybathlon is still moving people and technology in 2020!
