Virtual commemoration for Koni Steffen
In August, WSL Director and ETH Professor Koni Steffen had a fatal accident during field work in Greenland. Next Friday, the WSL will now hold a virtual memorial service for the climate researcher.
The WSL writes in a message on its website that the need to say farewell to Koni Steffen is very strong. The WSL will therefore hold a memorial service with the consent of the Steffen family.
Because of the Corona measures, it will take place virtually on Friday, 20 November 2020, 10.30-11.30 a.m. The event will be held in German with simultaneous translation into English. The link to the livestream will be sent out shortly before the commemoration ceremony and will also be available on the WSL website. Participation is open to all.
The abdication for Koni Steffen takes place in the closest family circle.
In memory of him, a scientific symposium organised by the WSL will take place in Davos on 21 and 22 October 2021. Details will follow at a later date.
