Central to become a construction site

New tram lines, extended tram islands, new tram stop roofs: Central's renovation is hotting up. Over the next few weeks, the transport hub will be out of action. Only the Polybahn will run as normal.

Central is undergoing a comprehensive renovation between April and November: tram lines are being replaced, the tram islands extended and new roofs installed. The area will also be made safer for pedestrians and cyclists.

As part of the renovation work, the area will be off limits to all public transport from 8 July to 11 August. The Polybahn will not be affected and will even run from 6:00 in the morning as an exception. Diversions will be signalled for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. There will be no bicycle parking at Central.

The city recommends that people travel to ETH via Stadelhofen railway station and Bellevue. The ETH Link will only run between ETH Zentrum and Hönggerberg during this period.
