Basic Seminar for Export Control and the Classification of Goods

Any kind of technical exchange of know-how, such as the transfer of research results, software, and any temporary or definitive delivery of goods beyond the Swiss border are subject to the legal provisions of export control in Switzerland. All ETH members who export goods are affected. Non-compliance with these regulations may result in criminal consequences for ETH Zurich and the member carrying out the export/exchange. For the avoidance of aforesaid, ETH Zurich has guidelines on compliance with these provisions since 2019 implemented. In the course, you will learn more about export control and how to use the guidelines designed specifically for ETH Zurich. You will also learn how to classify items. The classification of goods is essential to know whether an item is subject to export control.
