This article looks at NATO's security strategy, the challenges it faces through its reliance on Russian oil, and the central role Africa will play in this equation. The author argues that NATO will need to forge new strategic partnerships with Algeria, Angola, Libya and Nigeria in the coming years as it moves to sharply reduce its reliance on Russian oil and gas imports.
