This article discusses whether it is useful to use the Cold War as an analogy to describe the deterioration in relations between the West and Russia following Moscow's annexation of Crimea. The author argues that it is not and that a better analogy might be that of the Great Game, the 19th century struggle between Great Britain and Russia over Central Asia.
