Letters of recommendation

If letters of recommendation are required for the application, there is a “References” tab in the eApply application form.

General information

The programme-specific requirements state whether and how many letters of recommendation are required for the chosen Master's programme.

Speak to the persons you have selected well in advance and ask them whether they are prepared to provide a letter of recommendation for you. Also identify their correct addresses, including email addresses.
When you fill in the online application form you will be asked to enter the following contact details for your referees:

  • Name and title
  • Institution and position
  • Valid, official email address

Please provide official email addresses only. Letters of recommendation from private email accounts (e.g. @hotmail or @gmail) can unfortunately not be accepted.

After you have submitted your application, the persons you entered will be contacted by email and asked to give a short estimation of your academic performance and upload a letter of recommendation.

If no upload is made after 10 days, a reminder will automatically be sent to the specified person(s).

Letter of recommendation for ESOP applications

If you have already organised two letters of recommendation for your Master’s degree application, no further steps are required for the scholarship application. The letters of recommendation will be used for both the Master’s degree application and the ESOP application.
