Academic History

This page provides an overview of your university studies.

Admission

The basis for admission to the doctorate is a university Master's degree.

In the rare event of an extraordinary admission with a university Bachelor's degree or an UAS Master's degree a separate application process applies. In this case, please contact the Doctoral Administration () before submitting the application.

University Studies

Record all degrees from your entire university education (Bachelor's and Master's degrees). If available, please also add information on other doctorates that are in progress or have already been completed.

In principle, at least one Bachelor's and one Master's degree must always be recorded. Exception: in the case of an integrated Master's degree, only this one degree programme must be recorded.

If you completed your studies as part of a joint degree or double degree programme, please record the participating institutions separately and mark the leading house. The corresponding grade re-ports/transcripts must be uploaded to the respective university.

After entering the details of the studies relevant to your admission, enter further universities chronologically. It is essential to declare and document all of the universities attended, with nothing left out. This applies particularly to study programmes which

  • were broken off, or not completed;
  • changes of degree programme or university;
  • and exchange/mobility programmes

You must also declare and document study programmes in disciplines which are not relevant to your registration.

If you have already started a doctoral programme and are transferring to ETH together with the supervisor of your doctoral thesis, you must also provide evidence of this with the corresponding documents.

You will be asked to upload the mandatory documents for the entered university studies at the end of the registration on the summary page.

You may delete an incorrectly entered university by clicking on the "delete" button.
