Swiss Mobility programme
The Swiss Mobility programme enables students to undertake an exchange within Switzerland, particularly in the French- or Italian-speaking region.
- 15 April for the following Autumn Semester
- 15 November for the following Spring Semester
Students may apply at any time to conduct Master’s, Bachelor’s thesis and other project work at another Swiss university. The application process should be completed two months before the exchange begins.
The Swiss Mobility programme was created in answer to the European exchange programme Erasmus (since 2014/15 the Swiss-European Mobility Programme).
The philosophy is basically the same as the one of Erasmus.

Students who cross a language border receive a scholarship of CHF 1000.00 per semester.
An exchange at EPFL is currently subject to separate stipulations: Exchange between the two ETHs has a particular significance in the framework of Swiss Mobility. It is highly favoured and specifically encouraged.
The administrative barriers are minimal and the curricula of the two universities are easy to coordinate. Students receive a scholarship of CHF 500.00 per month (for an exchange for courses: 1 semester = 5 months).
For the scholarship no special application is required. At the given time you will receive a scholarship contract by email, which you should sign and upload to Mobility-Online.
The host universities rightfully expect students to follow courses in the respective course language. No language test is required, simply the personal responsibility of students in this matter.
The application deadlines are 15 April for the following Autumn Semester and 15 November for the following Spring Semester.
For unproblematic and fast online application, start collecting the required documents and information early!
Please read the Instructions for applying online (PDF, 196 KB) carefully!
ETH Zurich reserves the right to exclude students from future exchange programmes if they withdraw from an exchange without sufficient grounds for doing so (examination failure, illness, accident).
