Binding Directive

  • The binding Directive on the Examination Schedule is always an integral part of the examination schedule.
  • As a basic rule, only take examinations if you are in perfect health. Otherwise you are deliberately accepting the risk of failure and are therefore not in any way entitled to a cancellation of the result.

Before the start of the examination session

  • Up until Sunday at midnight (24:00 hours) one week before the start of the examination session through myStudies.

If a deadline is exceeded (e.g. deadline for taking the first year examinations, repeating an examination), you need:

Once the examination session has started

  • Once the withdrawal deadline has expired, it is only possible to withdraw on grounds of force majeure (e.g. illness or an accident).
  • Contact the Examinations Office immediately by telephone (Phone 044 632 20 68). You must present a substantiated certificate setting out the reason for absence.
  • Always telephone the Examinations Office immediately so that the examiners can be informed in good time (Phone 044 632 20 68).
  • Important: Obtain a substantiated medical certificate as described in the DownloadDirective on the examination schedule.
  • The next steps (e.g. whether other examinations will be taken or not) are discussed with the Examinations Office by telephone.
  • If you are prevented from taking part in the examinations for other reasons of force majeure, always telephone the Examinations Office immediately so that the examiners can be informed in good time (Phone 044 632 20 68).
  • The next steps are discussed with the Examination Office by telephone.
  • If you are absent from an examination without a valid reason, this examination resp. the entire examination block in question will be considered as "failed".
  • In this case as well, the Examinations Office needs to be informed immediately (Phone 044 632 20 68).

  • "Where is the examination taking place? I don't have my schedule with me."
  • "The examiner is not there..."
