ISO Certification

ETH Zurich was the first Swiss university to have its IT Services (ITS) certified in 2009 and as of 2012 ITS is the first service organisation within a Swiss university to have a ISO certified management systems.

• ISO/IEC 20000-1 is an internationally recognised standard for IT service management, which defines and documents the requirements for the professional delivery of managed IT services.
• The standard ISO/IEC 27001 specifies the requirements for the information security management system, which is far more that just IT security.

In 2021, the IT Services department passed the recertification again and the validity of the two certificates was extended until 2024.
