About "life"

"life – The ETH community magazine" conveys the strategy, values and qualities of ETH Zurich. life informs the ETH community in words and images about developments at their university, introduces them to the work of the people behind the strategies, and guides them through the wide range of experiences campus life has to offer.

Whereas the ETH web is used to quickly inform the ETH community about current events and services, life delves deeper into the issues. The magazine also strengthens the ETH spirit by offering university groups a forum in which to share their interests and concerns, and portraying the people who define the ETH.

"life – ETH community magazine"

life was first published in autumn 2013. The concept has proven highly successful and popular with readers. The magazine is characterised by large, high-quality photos and short, incisive articles.

To help make life even more appealing to its readership, the magazine was redesigned the in early 2016. A flexible cover design frames the cover stories perfectly and converts the corporate design into a magazine format.

The layout pattern and structure are essentially unchanged. Headings are generally slightly smaller and longer, and can vary considerably depending on the content. The font used in the corporate design, DINPro, is applied throughout, the sub-sections and info boxes have been made more prominent, and the standard colour is now the ETH blue.
