Prevention plays a vital role at ETH Zurich, in everything from lab safety and personal security to fire and explosion protection. In 2016, the Safety, Security, Health and Environment (SSHE) department produced three videos featuring important recommendations on how best to handle certain dangers, with the aim of demonstrating the importance of prevention for all members of ETH.

A video on hand protection illustrates the importance of personal protective equipment when handling chemicals. Another short film on personal security shows how to behave in the event of violence. The third video describes the procedure for evacuating a building.

You can find more information on the other issues that SSHE worked on last year in the department’s latest annual report.
