New restaurant on the Hönggerberg campus

ETH Zurich’s newest restaurant, the Bellavista, has opened on 10 October. It is the first restaurant at ETH Zurich that is explicitly designed with external guests also in mind.

The restaurant in the new freestanding HGP pavilion on the Hönggerberg campus offers views across Zurich’s Affoltern quarter and elegant à-la-carte dining. The lunchtime menu will feature a variety of options, including three-course meals. In addition to the classic restaurant area, there will also be a section with high tables, and a lounge with comfortable armchairs and coffee tables. In fine weather, guests will also be served on the terrace. All this will be complemented by a bar serving warm and cold drinks and snacks from 9 am to 9 pm. The caterer is ZFV, which also operates the University of Zurich’s Uniturm.

The Bellavista is ETH Zurich’s first restaurant that is explicitly designed with external guests also in mind. It is anticipated to become a popular meeting place for ETH Zurich’s staff and students and their guests.

The restaurant pavilion building project was managed by the Public Real Estate Management Division. The contract for the architectural design and implementation of the project was awarded as part of a competition in November 2013. Emilio Tuñón Arquitectos from Madrid and Priora Generalunternehmung AG from Kloten were selected as the winners.

The Bellavista has opened for its first day of regular operation on 10 October.
