Main content

The following information is applicable to the autumn semester 2017 and spring semester 2018 intakes. Updated information regarding applications for the autumn semester 2018 will be published here until October 2017.

Graduates of Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschulen)

  • are eligible to apply to many Master's degree programmes (cf right column), but not to all
  • are not eligible for admission to some Master's degree programmes which require a Bachelor's degree awarded by a university,
  • can apply to the MSc in Statistics for the Autumn Semester but not for the Spring Semester (see programme FAQ)

Attention should be paid to the respective requirement profile.

Minimum final grade in the Bachelor's degree programme

A final grade (PDF, 97 KB) of at least 5 (Swiss grading system) or "excellent" (other grading systems) in the Bachelor's degree programme is always a prerequisite for admission. If the Bachelor's degree programme has not yet been completed at the time of application, evidence of the necessary final grade must be submitted before lectures commence at ETH Zurich.

Additional requirements in the Master's degree programme

Graduates of Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences have to acquire a total of 40 - 60 additional ECTS credits from the respective ETH Zurich Bachelor's degree programme during their Master studies. These additional courses will be determined during the admissions procedure and communicated in the admission letter. They cannot be taken before enrolment in the ETH Master's degree programme.
