Meet the Talent 2018

At last week’s "Meet the Talent" event, donors to the Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme met with recipients to learn more about their research projects and directly see the effect of their support.

The annual Meet the Talent event is an opportunity for Sarah M. Springman, ETH Rector and patron of the programme, and the external pageETH Zurich Foundation to thank everyone involved with the Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme (ESOP). This year, support from private individuals, companies and foundations enable 57 scholarships to be granted to particularly talented students.

The students described their visions and ideas at various stands, while also benefiting from the guests’ huge wealth of experience. In her speech, Rector Sarah M. Springman discussed new developments in teaching and emphasised that the ESOP programme, which is funded solely by donations, can only continue with the generous support of private patrons.

Since 2007, donations to the ETH Zurich Foundation have already supported 448 talented students during their Master’s studies. The “Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme” is offered exclusively to the best two to three percent of incoming Master's students and consists of a grant covering living and study expenses as well as a tuition fee waiver. Last but not least, award holders benefit from a special support structure including mentoring and special events.

More information about the programme can be found external pagehere.
