The Congressi Stefano Franscini (CSF) is a division of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Zurich (ETH Zurich), responsible for the promotion, selection and financing of international conferences, Workshops, ETH Summer and Winter Schools and situated in the south of Switzerland (Canton Ticino) at Monte Verità above Ascona, with amazing views of Lake Maggiore.
All researchers and university professors working at an academic institution in Switzerland are entitled to submit their proposal for a CSF subsidized meeting. Since 1989, the CSF has organised 20 to 25 conferences a year and – since 2010 – up to 10 "Winter Schools" for doctoral students (ETH Winter Schools@Monte Verità). A request for applications to hold conferences at the CSF is published each year in late spring. The deadline for submitting applications is mid-January of the previous year. CSF conferences normally last three to five days and have 50 to 110 international participants.
