The ETH Link at the Hönggerberg stop
This is the shuttle bus that links ETH’s two main sites in Zurich.

Closure of Central tram station

As the Central tram station is being renovated and modernised, the area will be closed to all traffic, with the exception of the Polybahn, from 8 July to 11 August. While this work is in progress, the ETH Link will be able to provide a shuttle service only between “ETH Zentrum” and Hönggerberg, i.e. the stop at Zurich Central Station will be temporarily suspended (see building site timetable).

The ETH Link – the fastest connection between the two ETH Zurich campuses. On Monday to Friday, the shuttlebus runs every 20 minutes between ETH Zentrum and ETH Hönggerberg.

Departure times from Hönggerberg and Zentrum: x.14, x.34 and x.54.

  • Between 7.54 a.m. and 6.34 p.m., the buses travel directly between the Zentrum and Hönggerberg sites. On the way, the buses stop at “Haldenegg”, very close to the IFW building and only 600 m from the main station.
  • To allow train passengers to make a rapid connection, the first departures for Hönggerberg (7.06, and during the semester 7.21 a.m.) leave from the “Bahnhofplatz/HB” stop in front of the Schweizerhof Hotel.
  • During the day, the buses travelling to the centre (first rounds 07.06 and 07.34, and during the semester 7.44 a.m.) continue via Haldenegg on to ETH Zentrum, “Unterführung Polyterrasse”.The last rounds of the day (6.14, 6.34 and 6.54 p.m., during the semester 6.44 p.m.) do not go via ETH Zentrum, but directly to Zurich main station.

The service is only for students, employees or guests of the ETH Zurich and is free of charge.
