Please submit the general application (PDF, 227 KB) for the following events:


  • Social occasions

    • Especially main building: Foyers E-Floor
  • Congresses / Conferences

    • With more than 500 people
    • With Poster / Company exhibition
    • With sponsors
    • If the event runs longer than the regular opening times
    • If the event runs longer than 2 days



Filming / photographs



  • Prior actions squares
  • Outdoor posters
  • Roadshows
  • Promotions
  • Sales campaigns


  • Outdoor researches / Outdoor exercises
  • Outdoor constructions
    (If the construction stays more than 1 month, it will require a permission of the city of Zurich)
  • Tests with unmanned vehicles
    (e.g. helicopter flight)

No permission required

Events for education and research, such as lectures, presentations, workshops, seminars, etc. (consult Regulations on Room Use (PDF, 62 KB)), the authorization gets granted directly by the room and course scheduling of the rectorate.

Cost of premises

The use of rectorate rooms is subject to charges, according to the «Scale of charges associated with the Regulations on Room Use (in German)» of 01.01.2015.

  • For commercial use, a room rental fee will be charged.
  • When using the premises by external organisers, a room rental will be charged.
  • The invoice will be issued by the responsible department
