SSSTC project group meeting in Shanghai
SSSTC project group meeting in Shanghai

The Sino-Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation (SSSTC) program was established in 2003 after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the then Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). SSSTC will continue as part of ETH Zurich's leading house mandate from SERI to foster cooperation with the Asia-Pacific region in the funding phase 2017-2020.

Calls for Proposals

Building on the previous success, the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation (SERI) is committed to continue bilateral S&T cooperation with China for another 4 years from 2017-2020.
Calls for Joint Research Projects are currently operated by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). For details please contact the SNSF

A separate budget has been allocated for other funding instruments managed by ETH Zurich as Leading House (LH) for Asia. New funding instruments are currently in preparation.

Exchange Grants

Exchange grants enable mid-term research stays of 6-24 months for young researchers (PhD and postdoc). Grants cover the living allowance for Chinese researchers in Switzerland or travel for Swiss researchers going to China. The instrument is open to all disciplines and is co-funded by the China Scholarship Council (CSC).

Call closed for applications; evaluation in progress.
