ETH Zurich at the Head of the Charles Regatta

Join friends and alumni to cheer ETH Zurich’s women’s eight (including Rector Sarah Springman) as they compete in the Head of the Charles Regatta for the first time.

October 17, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The ETH Zurich team will be starting in race #23 at 3:21 pm (see externe Seiterace schedule)

Rector of ETH Zurich, professor at the Institute for Geotechnical Engineering, triathlete and ironman (5x Hawaii). Rowing since 1994 for Rob Roy BC and at Belvoir (CH). Represented GB in 1997 in 2 World Cup races. Many World Masters gold medals (1x, 2x, 4x, 4-, 8+ and Ergometer (1994 – 2006).

Professor at the ETH Institute of Atmospheric and Climate Science. Rowing since 1993, many national and World Masters gold medals (1x, 2x, 4x, 8+, 2009 – 2015), silver at the WHORR in London (8+ in 2012), Swiss champion 8+ Elite (2012).

Professor at the ETH Institute of Food, Nutrition and Health.  Rowing since 1992, UC Berkeley Varsity Crew (USA), MIT Sloan Crew (USA) and Belvoir (CH), several Pac10 medals (4+, 8+, 1992-1996), bronze at HOCR in Boston (4+, 1998).  Elite cyclist (USA Cat1), many state and national medals (road race and criterium, 2003-2009).

PhD ETH Zurich (Biotechnology), Head of the Spin-off group and Manager of the ieLab Life Sciences. Rowing since 1986 at Aegir (NL) and Belvoir (CH), several national medals (8+, 2- 1986 -1988 (NL)), World Masters gold medal (4x, 2014).

MSc in Food Science at ETH Zurich. Swiss Olympic rower (2000: 7th in the 2x & 2004: in the 1x), World Championship and World Cup finalist (1997 – 2004), 2-times bronze medal in the 1x at U23-Wold Championships ('93 & '94), 21-times Swiss Champion in the 1x and 2x (1992 – 2004). Rowing since 1991.

Several national and international medals (2-/8+/4-/2x und 4x). Rowing since 1983. Social pedagogue.

Dean of Admissions at MIT in Cambridge, Mass. (USA). Coxing since 1982. Coached at MIT for 13 years. 1997 Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges Coach of the Year. Three-time coach of the U.S. Team for the World Maccabiah Games. Head of the Charles Regatta results: seventeen medals, including 7 gold medals.
