Platelets instead of quantum dots

A team of researchers led by ETH Zurich professor David Norris has developed a model to clarify the general mechanism of nanoplatelet formation. Using pyrite, they also managed to confirm their theory. Read more

ETH researchers have received eight of the coveted Advanced Grants in the European Research Council's (ERC) latest call for proposals. For several scientists, this is their second such grant. Aldo Steinfeld is Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Distinguished Scientist 2017

Aldo Steinfeld, Chair of Renewable Energy Carriers at ETH Zurich, received the “Chinese Academy of Sciences - President's International Fellowship for Distinguished Scientists”. The prestigious award includes a lecture-tour in China. Read more

Eggenberger Award for Stephan Kress

Stephan Kress receives the Hans-Eggenberger-Prize for his dissertation on the control of light at nanoscales. The annual award, endowed with CHF 100,000, is given to outstanding young scientists who are primarily active in the interdisciplinary application of electronics and electrical energy technology. Among Energy Technology's top 10 papers

The joint report of Prof. Aldo Steinfeld's group and Prof. Javier Perez-Ramirez entitled "Impact of Daily Startup-Shutdown Conditions on the Production of Solar Methanol over a Commercial Cu-ZnO-Al2O3 Catalyst" has been named one of the Top 10 publications of the year 2016 by the science magazine Energy Technology. Andreas Güntner, doctoral student at Prof. Sotiris Pratsinis, highlighted in the SRF Show Puls the use of flame-made and portable gas sensors for monitoring trace organic vapors in the human breath.
