Zoltan Kunszt has been a member of the scientific staff at the Institute of Theoretical Physics since October 1989. He was awarded the title of Professor in 1993. He is responsible for the research area of particle physics.



Prof. Kunszt has received his PhD degree in 1971 at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, L. Eötvos University, in Budapest. From 1968-1982 he held positions as assitant, adjunct and associate professor at L. Eötvos University, and during this period he also had visiting scientist positions in Dubna (JINR, 1970-72), Geneva (CERN, 1974-75), and Hamburg (DESY, 1978-80). From 1982-1989 he was senior scientist at the Central Research Institute of the Hungarian Scientific Academy (Budapest). In this period he hold scientific associate positions in Bern (University of Bern, 1983-84), Geneva (CERN, 1985), Chicago (Fermilab, 1986), Santa Barbara (ITP, 1987), and Zurich (ETH, 1986-1989).



Prof. Kunszt's current research insterest is the physics of high-energy accelerators (LEP, HERA, TEVATRON, LHC) within and beyond the Standard Model with special emphasis on Quantumchromodynamics (QCD).
