MINT Learning Center

MINT

The goal of the MINT Learning Center at ETH Zurich is the sustainable optimization of school-based learning opportunities in the STEM subjects. MINT is the German-language equivalent of STEM and stands for Mathematics, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Technology. The MINT Learning Center is part of EducETH, the ETH Competence Center for Learning and Instruction.

Transfer from learning and instruction research into practice

To improve general science education, learning and instruction researchers at the MINT Learning Center develop teaching units for central topics in chemistry, mathematics and physics, in collaboration with experienced gymnasium teachers. These teaching units are characterized by the transfer of knowledge from empirical research on learning and instruction to its practical application in schools. Science and mathematics topics are taught through learning methods with proven learning efficacy, which foster understanding and the construction of intelligent knowledge.
