Sebastian Sewerin joined the Energy Politics Group as a postdoctoral researcher in October 2015. In his research, which is published in Policy Studies Journal and Environmental Politics, he analyzes policy change in countries’ energy policy mixes and the impact of technological change on energy politics. Currently, he focuses on the comparative analysis of long-term policy dynamics in renewable energy policy mixes and on further improving the measurement of policy change.

Sebastian holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Cologne`s Graduate School in Management, Economics and Social Science. He obtained a Master’s degree in Political Science, Medieval and Modern History and Anglo-American History, also from the University of Cologne. Sebastian worked as a research fellow at the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy. During his PhD and Postdoc research, he spent time as a visiting scholar at Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (University of Saskatchewan), and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia.
