GRE General Test

GRE „Graduate Record Examination“

In addition to the application documents, many Master’s degree programmes require a external pageGRE General Test from students who did not acquire their Bachelor’s degrees in one of the external pageEU-27/EFTA member states.

The GRE requirement is not waived for students with degrees from joint or double degree programmes (e.g. China-Italy, China-France 2+2).

The respective stipulations are listed among the degree programme’s specific application document requirements.

The GRE test results should be submitted by the application deadline at the latest. In the online application you must also enter the test date and your registration number before the application deadline expires.

Important: Please note that we can only receive your test results if

  • you enter the test date and registration number correctly in the online eApply form;
  • there is no discrepancy between the test name, date of birth and the name and date registered in the eApply form;
  •  you have ordered ETS to report the results to us. The Institution Code of ETH Zurich is 3331.

The GRE General Test cannot be replaced by a GRE Subject Test or the GMAT.
