Materials for our future

New materials are factors crucial to the performance efficiency, effectiveness, quality and environmental friendliness of products and processes in every modern branch of industry and field of practical application.

Structure:

In the first four semesters of the Bachelor’s degree programme, the fundamentals of materials science, chemistry, physics, mathematics and biology are taught. The last two semesters are dedicated to specialising in materials science subjects (Metals, Polymers, Ceramics, Materials in Biology and Medicine, Composites). An industrial placement or a twelve-week university research project during the lecture-free period and a Bachelor’s thesis supplement the teaching, together with numerous exercises, seminars and practicals.

- Materials Science subjects: Metals, Polymers, Ceramics, Surfaces/Interfaces, Biomaterials, Composites

- Seminars, practicals

- Industrial placement or university research project

- Bachelor’s thesis
