A sound technological basis and a wide horizon provide the basis for the work of mechanical engineers at the interface of electronics, computer science, mechanics, thermodynamics and chemistry, and where products, systems and processes are developed, calculated and planned.

Structure:

At the start of the Master’s degree programme, students collaborate with a professor, their tutor, to select a subject area and draw up an individually designed curriculum. This consists of specialised courses closely linked to the selected specialist field (e.g. Sustainable Energy Use, Mechatronics, Product Development, Robotics) plus transdisciplinary subjects, which can be chosen from a large teaching offer at ETH Zurich, EPFL, and the Universities of Zurich and St. Gallen. The programme is completed by a twelve-week industrial placement and the Master’s thesis.
