Mechanical Engineering Bachelor

A sound technological basis and a wide horizon provide the basis for the work of mechanical engineers at the interface of electronics, computer science, mechanics, thermodynamics and chemistry, and where products, systems and processes are developed, calculated and planned.

Structure:

In the first three semesters of the Bachelor’s degree programme basic theoretical knowledge is acquired in compulsory subjects. From the fourth semester onwards, students attend electives in their main areas of interest. In the fifth semester, they select one focus area in which to expand their knowledge. In the sixth semester they write a Bachelor’s thesis. A five-week placement in an industrial company is another component of the Bachelor’s degree programme.

- General basic courses: Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics

- Basic courses in Engineering: Mechanics, Materials and production, Electrical Engineering, Fluid dynamics, Control Engineering, Thermodynamics, etc.

- One area of focus from: Biomedical Engineering; Energy, Flows and Processes; Mechatronics; Microsystems and Nanotechnology; Production Technology; Structural Mechanics; Management, Technology and Economics; or a Focus project

- Electives

- workshop placement, engineering tools, Practical laboratory training, GESS Compulsory optional subjects

- Bachelor's thesis
