Focus on geodata

Geomatic Engineering compiles, measures and analyses structures and alterations in our living environment. The data gathered is used to create exact computer models which help us to better understand environmentally relevant processes and shape our future environs.

Planning involves the long-term and sustainable development of residential areas, landscapes, traffic systems and infrastructures, in the interests of present and future generations.


Career profile:

Graduates in Geomatic Engineering and Planning have a wide choice of professions which include geoinformatics, surveying, and landscape and regional planning, and water, waste water and soil management. They may take up positions in construction firms active in water, landfill, landscape, civil engineering and road building or with authorities concerned with building, environmental, survey, cartographical and planning. They may work in service companies active in data collection, measurement engineering and systems development enterprises, or software companies, banks and insurance firms. Last but not least, they may work in research and development.
