Career profile:

Research is therefore one of the most important areas of activity for chemists, particularly in the context of development of new substances and synthetic procedures. Further fields include chemical analysis, environmental protection and safety, patents, or documentation. Graduates work at universities, in private and state-owned laboratories, research institutes and the chemical industry, but are also  sought after in other sectors of industry, public services, the health service, administration and education.
