Biotechnology addresses the technical application of biological systems and living organisms, and their metabolic products.

Structure:
In the Master’s degree programme in Biotechnology students acquire solid scientific training in the three specialisations Systems Biology, Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology. Electives provide a deeper understanding of topics specific to Biotechnology and extend knowledge in related areas. A project work familiarises students with scientific working methods and provide insights into prevailing research themes. The programme concludes with an eight-month Master’s thesis project on a current research topic.
