If your current place of residence is outside of Switzerland, please deal with the formalities for entering the country at an early stage.
You should apply for a visa to the Swiss representation
in your native country. As a rule, it takes 6-12 weeks from submitting the
application to the visa being issued.

Student exchange programmes
For students coming to ETH Zurich for an exchange period within the
context of a partner programme, the Student Exchange Office will help
you with the entry formalities and will apply for an entry visa if
necessary.
